Wounded Memories'
My new work of performance art with Bengali poetry.
ART IS EVERYWHERE
Live Art Tour 9 - Dhaka, Bangladesh
The work called WOUNDED MEMORIES is based on the history of the partition of the Indian subcontinent. After 1947, the Hindu community continuously migrated from East Bengal (present Bangladesh) to West Bengal (present in India). This migration happened sometimes due to insecurity, sometimes forced or forced.
While my performance was going on, a poem was playing on the speakers. The poem is by the famous poet of Bangladesh, Shamsur Rahman. As the subject of the poem, it can be seen that the poet was talking about a friend who left his own country. He could not stop the friend from leaving. As the poem went on, I walked through the crowd and finally stood on a white box with a stream of red flowing from my head. This red color symbolized the shedding of people who were forced to leave their own country and migrate to other countries. Or still being forced to leave.
